Three Salem Residents Among Those Hurt in I-57 Crash

Four people were injured in a one vehicle wreck on Interstate 57 a mile south of Effingham being blamed on the rainy weather.

State Police say 18-year-old Kayli Vanhoutin of Salem was traveling northbound when she hydroplaned during a heavy rainstorm, ran off the left side of the road and overturned in the median.

Vanhoutin and three passengers were all taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham for treatment of minor injuries. The passengers are identified as 12-year-old Christian Vanhoutin of Salem 40-year-old Christine Mae Vanhoutin of salem and 19-year-old Matthew Dubson of Clinton.

The wreck occurred at 4:10 Saturday afternoon.   http://is.gd/0XRqHt
