A 27-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Salem Police early Wednesday morning for alleged aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Christopher Short of South Broadway was initially spotted allegedly screaming in front of the Red Roof Storage units on South Broadway while carrying a butcher knife. Salem Police later found Short inside the narby Casey's General Store. He still allegedly had the knife in his possession. Police say Short did not threaten anyone in the store or the officers taking him into custody. 27-year-old Eddie Bender of North Walnut in Centralia posted $500 bond and was released for failure to pay on a possession of cannabis conviction. State Police arrested two Little Rock, Arkansas residents on drug charges following an initial traffic stop for speeding. The driver, 23-year-old Darrell Crenshaw, posted $300 bond for alleged driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis. A passenger, 20-year-old Stephanie Sibounheuang posted $150 bond for possession of 2.5 to ten grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating two criminal damage to property complaints. Michael Wilkins of Jett Lane in Salem reported someone ran through a fence to one of his fields. Salem Man Sentenced to Three Years In Prison For Forgery; Marion County Court Report
A 31-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to a forgery charge. Nathan Jean of West Olive was given credit for time served and ordered to complete one year of mandatory supervised release once he is released from prison. 43-year-old Vett Bates of Broadway in Centralia pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis. He was ordered to serve 45 days in the Marion County Jail and fined $100 and cost. 31-year-old Joshua Grutzius of Selmaville Road in Salem entered a negotiated plea to a reduced charge of misdemeanor resisting a peace officer. Grutzius was ordered to forfeit his bond as fine and cost and given credit for time served. He is accused of shoving and physically resisting being handcuffed by Sheriff's Deputy Vernon Rose last July. 72-year-old Joye Lyons of North Bryan in Alma has pleaded guilty to an assault charge. Lyons is accused of swinging a metal rod at Doug Schoreck placing him in apprehension of a battery. She was placed on one year court supervision, pay court costs and undergo drug evaluation and treatment. A charge of assaulting a peace officer was dropped as part of the plea. Two people face new charges in Marion County Court. Bond was set at $7,500 for 38-year-old Jason Booth of Woods Lane in Centralia after he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $2,000 for 22-year-old Terry Hamburg of North Park in Central City after he was charged with battery. Hamburg is accused of striking Ashley Allgood in the face with his hand on January 21st. If released on bond, Hamburg was ordered to have no contact with Allgood. - http://goo.gl/5j4l8
