Three Chicago area residents were injured in a one car wreck on Interstate 57 four miles south of Salem early Tuesday morning. State Police say 19-year-old Tiana Bailey of Chicago was southbound when an unknown animal ran into the road in front of her. Bailey left the road and overturned. Bailey along with two passengers, 21-year-old Darius Gillen of Chicago and 20-year-old Myra Gillen of Hazelcrest, were all taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. Salem Fire Protection District officials were called to assist the victims. They report the car appeared to have flipped over several times after running up the embankment at the Nation Road overpass and landed on the far side of the fence that runs along the Interstate.
