Police Beat for November 15th, 2011

A 17-year-old Iuka man has been arrested for alleged aggravated domestic battery. Eric Durham of Thomas Street is accused of choking a female juvenile outside of Salem Community High School Monday morning. Centralia Police have arrested three people for theft of scrap metal from a roll off dumpster in the 300 block of South Elm. 42-year-old Kevin Berry of South Maple was taken to the Marion County Jail on the theft charge as well as for an alleged domestic battery that occurred on October 31st. The two others arrested for the alleged theft, 29-year-old Carrie Jo Berry of South Maple and 48-year-old Tamara Thomas of South Maple, both were released on bond. The three told police they were scavenging dumpsters and thought the metal had been thrown away. The three apologized and put the metal back, but the property owner still wanted to press charges. 37-year-old Michael Sampson of North Walnut in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police for alleged domestic battery for striking Pamela Sheppard. Two others remain in jail on outstanding warrants. 30-year-old Marc Ryan Snyder of South Pruyn in Salem was arrested by the Probation Office and 21-year-old Afton Codi Foster of Woodlawn Mobile Home Park in Centralia was taken into custody by Centralia Police.
